Data the extension handles
On a PuppetPrince character page, the extension reads the account username and user ID shown by the site so it can keep recovery data separate for each account. When you open the importer, it reads the Grapevine .gex file you select and the selected character sheet, including its fields, traits, notes, and XP history. XP history can include point amounts, reasons, dates, and the usernames of the players who created entries.
The extension keeps operation checkpoints and recovery backups in Chrome's local extension storage. These may contain account and character identifiers, character fields and notes, and XP history. It can also download a JSON backup to your Downloads folder. Imported file data is kept temporarily in the current tab's session storage while you move between the character view and edit pages.
How data is used and transmitted
Data is used only to display the selected character and XP history, prepare and verify a correction or import you request, and recover an interrupted operation. The extension does not send data to its developer, analytics services, advertising services, or other developer-controlled servers.
When you confirm a correction or import, the extension sends the changes you requested directly to PuppetPrince over HTTPS using your existing signed-in session. PuppetPrince receives and processes those changes under its own privacy practices.
Storage, retention, and deletion
Recovery data stays in Chrome's local extension storage until you clear the extension's data in Chrome. You control whether to keep a downloaded JSON backup and can delete it from your Downloads folder. Temporary importer data is removed when the browser tab session ends. The developer has no separate database and cannot retrieve or delete your local extension data.
Security
The extension communicates with PuppetPrince over HTTPS and stores recovery data in Chrome's local extension storage. Anyone with access to your Chrome profile or downloaded backup files may be able to view that data; protect your device and backups accordingly.
